True Bali- Paradise and Perfection on every level

LeMirage Bali was more than a vacation villa; it was a vacation destination and truly paradise. The pictures don’t do the place justice. Our jaws collectively dropped when we arrived! It’s that beautiful and so well decorated. The villa was absolutely stunning, beyond spacious, immaculately clean, completely private and the service from staff was top notch. Nothing and I repeat nothing could have made our stay more enjoyable besides staying longer (and we stayed for an entire week!) Honey and Ray were perfect hosts who were very attentive and friendly and Anik and Gedde were fabulous cooks and the dishes they prepared were always fresh and delicious. The entire staff of LeMirage went out of their way to adhere to our dietary restrictions to include having local chefs source special ingredients for a night out for our family and research organic restaurants for us to dine at while on an Excursion in Ubud. LeMirage is located in Lovina which is away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud and Seminyak allowing us to experience true Bali not touristy Bali. As for excursions, Ray and Honey did a great job organizing daily activities for us to include hiring designated driver (Ketut/ Bali Uncovered) who was absolutely the best in so many ways! We did everything we wanted to and then some from a morning at sea dolphin watching to a one on one swim with dolphins to trekking through terraced rice paddies to canyon Tubing to riding elephants to hiking Mt Batur an active volcano! We couldn’t have made a better choice for our needs as a family. This was my dream vacation and it surely turned into the trip of a lifetime for our entire family. Thanks Honey and Ray and the entire staff of LeMirage for making our vacation dreams become a reality beyond our wildest dreams!

Fabulous stay with Ray & Honey and their helpful and friendly staff. We were a family of 7, including kids and grandparents. All our arrangements and trips were taken care of seamlessly and it was great to have meals at the villa as and when we wanted. It’s very spacious so great for kids to have space to explore. Make sure you ask for Eddie if you go to see the dolphins. He’s been a fisherman since he was a young boy and really cares about the fate of the sea life in the area. Also Ketet was a great driver, knowledgeable and safe. There are a lot of environmentally friendly features about the villa which is great (if I had one suggestion it would be to ditch the plastic straws and get some reusable stainless steel ones). Thanks for a great holiday and to hosts who go out of their way to ensure you are relaxed and stress-free!

This villa was so luxurious and with beautiful surroundings everywhere you looked. The staff and managers were so thoughtful and accommodating always there when you needed them and making beautiful meals with your every need catered for! It was so relaxing and the managers Ray and Honey go to every length for you to make sure you don’t worry about anything at all, organizing any excursion wanted or taking you to the local town to beautiful restaurant’s and bars. They think of everything and each person staying is personally catered for with all the staff taking the time to get to know how you like things and adding to that special touch. The villa and it’s land is stunning all day and night round with the true feeling of Bali surrounding you. The rooms were breathtaking and the pool and gardens were beautiful and luxurious! I loved every moment of the holiday and would recommend this place to anyone as it caters for all and will not disappoint. The villa is conveniently situated close drive to the local town and beaches so you never need to worry about travelling far to do whatever your heart desires. A must do if you are in Bali! Thank you to all for making this one of the best holidays I’ve ever had, most definitely the most beautiful luxurious villa I have ever stayed in and the best in Bali!

We just spent a superb week at villa santai . Hosts Ray and Honey paid attention to every detail and were particularly accommodating when we arrived late due to a missed flight connection. The rooms are to a superb high end standard with modern minimalist bathrooms and particularly large and comfortable four poster double beds. The rooms are freshly made and cleaned each day. The pool is a fantastic size with an infinity style end overlooking the back of the garden and pagoda where we had a massage. The setting of the villa is far enough away from lovina for it to feel like a real rural retreat but close enough to be able to pop into town and enjoy the vast array of eateries and beach clubs – we recommend La Costa and Spice Beach Club for upmarket and beach side dining or if you are looking for a cheaper eaterie try one of the beach side restaurants along from the dolphin statue. There are a vast array of activities including snorkelling, waterfall walks and hot springs all of which can be organised by the hosts Ray and Honey who are always around to help you cater for your needs . Or simply chill by the pool and enjoy what villa santai has to offer … serene surroundings in an upmarket relaxing vibe. The rest of the staff at the villa are also attentive , considerate and kind with the food they prepare being of a high quality and standard. If you need that cold beer, chilled sauvignon or flat white , there is always someone at hand to serve it to you . The value for money this accommodation offers is outstanding and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Located in the quiet area of Lovina (Northern Bali), this is the perfect place for you and your family to get away from the noise and hustle of the south. The black sand beaches were different from what we are used to but it did not take away from the beauty of the area. Our family stayed here for 30 days and it was absolutely AMAZING! Le Mirage is located on a mountainside and the property is breathtaking with its lush green gardens, fish ponds, gazebo, multiple fountains, and nighttime lighting. The house itself does not disappoint; each room has its own full bathroom and a ton of storage/closet space. The kitchen and dining area are stunning, especially at night. The pool, which is much larger than pictures can portray, became my children’s favorite place to be- it was often very hard to drag them out for adventures and meals. Our family ate nearly every meal each day at the villa and we were never disappointed. The staff ensured we were never bored and prepared a variety dishes ranging from traditional Western meals to traditional Indonesian and Balinese meals. It was so good each meal became our “favorite” meal. While the villa is beautiful and brought much satisfaction on its own, the main reason our stay was so fantastic was the result of the attentiveness and level of effort put forth by every member of the management and staff. The managers, Ray and Honey went above and beyond to accommodate my family, which includes 3 children ages 7, 8, and 13. They assisted us with pretty much every aspect of our extended stay including: local and long distance transport (to and from the airport and the monkey forest), planning fun family activities, arranging private scuba lessons (in the villa pool), and suggesting adventures that were in the local area. This, coupled with the easy going nature of Honey and Ray, truly made our stay phenomenal. The staff, Anik and Gedde, were just as fantastic. To say that I am satisfied with our stay at Le Mirage would be a massive understatement. I highly recommend Le Mirage if you are looking for an unforgettable experience!!

Le Mirage Villa Santai private Lovina, Bali – Ray and Honey are such wonderful hosts. They ensured our break was relaxing, we didn’t have to lift a finger – perfect! When we needed anything they were quick and efficient to help, even with recommendations to restaurants and tours. We thought their meal package was fantastic value. The gardens are lovely and spacious and very well kept by staff (Gede and Anik?) as is the rest of Le Mirage. It has been our best Bali vacation experience so far and the North is soooo much more stunning than the South. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back!!

Le Mirage is a picture perfect vacation destination in Bali. It’s opulent and it’s luxurious yet still extremely family friendly in every sense (and we are a family of 5 with 3 very active children.) It is hands down 5 stars on every level to include, but certainly not limited to the attentive and friendly staff, wonderful amenities, superb cleanliness, spacious and well-appointed accommodations, and top notch excursions. From the moment we booked, Ray and Honey were masters of communication answering questions promptly and offering lots of information for us to look over so we could plan out our trip prior to arrival to include creating itineraries and booking tours in advance to lessen the amount of actual vacation time spent planning tours. Upon arrival, we were met at the airport by the resort’s driver – Ketut. He was a safe driver, very friendly and kept the conversation going. He was wonderful with our children and parents can attest how car rides with children can sometimes be, but Ketut enjoyed their spirited antics! The initial drive to the resort from the airport was quite long (almost 3 hours due to traffic,) but in such good company it didn’t really matter. Ketut was also our driver for the week and took us to every Excursion. During our time with him he loved snapping pictures (and being in them with us!) and telling us all about Balinese culture. He truly became part of our vacation and part of our family. Having him with us made all of us smile and enjoy our time in Bali even more. We did a Dolphin watching tour with Captain Eddy who was beyond kind. He made sure our children enjoyed the trip to the fullest to include snorkeling with them and bringing up huge star fish for them to take pictures with. Never did he look at his watch – his concern was that the kids enjoyed every moment and a 3 hour dolphin Snorkeling tour turned into 5 hours. He also has a one of a kind hand hold attached to his boat to hold onto while following dolphins underwater which we named “torpedo snorkeling!” The dolphin one-on-one in the pool was sensational, better than in Hawaii. We did the trek up the Volcano to see an amazing sunrise, (while the staff took care of our 3 children) Tubing along a river, the monkey sanctuary, a delightful Organic lunch in Ubud, the rice fields north of Ubud, the Aling Aling water falls, the Hot Springs baths, the amazing temple on the lake at Bedugal & the twin lakes lookouts, fed the roadside monkeys on our way back to the airport. We ate most of our meals at Le Mirage as they were so fresh & flavoursome & better than those we tried outside. Anik, Ayu & Honey are all great cooks and did so well at sourcing Organic foods & drinks for us.

We travel 2-3 times a year & this was the best vacation ever!

If you’re going to Bali, do yourself a favour, stay at Le Mirage Villa Sanatai. It’s easy to see why they have won the Super Host award 3 years in a row!

The biggest villa in the area and for sure the best too! Thoughtful design, excellent location and very welcoming owner. What they think first is what we need rather than how to make money out of us. Ray and Honey really put their feet in our shoes, they somehow managed to make our stay not a holiday but good friends visiting. The hospitality is amazing, and to the details. The owner always put his feet in my shoes, and won’t stop till he gets everything arranged for me, nice and secure. Kind of thing people really need when traveling in the country that build on different culture and language. It is for sure money well spend n wonderful stay for a holiday. If you are here, then only thing you need to do is tell The owner what you want and when, and they will sort out the rest.

Le Mirage is a beautiful and incredibly comfortable villa. The staff are lovely and hosts, Ray and Honey couldn’t be more helpful. They’ll provide you with introductions and manage your reservations at the best local eating houses and if you don’t want wander too far from the amazing pool, the staff will prepare your meals on site. Don’t be scared to venture off the menu provided, your hosts and staff are happy to meet your needs pending availability and sufficient lead times to source produce. Ray will help you find whichever transport option you prefer to commute between the villa, restaurants and attractions. All in all a wonderful place to step off the treadmill and take a deep breath. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts or friendlier staff. Thank you all

Beyond amazing stay at Le Mirage Villa Santai! The pictures to not do it justice. From the very beginning, upon airport pick up, Ketut (our driver) was friendly and accommodating. He definitely went beyond our expectations and became a dear friend by the end of our short trip. Ray and Honey organized an amazing itinerary for us and we appreciated all their suggestions and hospitality. They suggested we see the dolphins and dinner on the beach at Lovina. At first I was hesitate to see the dolphins because I have seen them in Hawaii. But, it is an absolute must!! Eddie (our guide) was right about going later in the morning. We were the ONLY boat out there about 30 minutes into our tour and the dolphins grouped together in pods by the HUNDREDS! It was amazing!! Eddie’s boat is the only one that has a swing for you to hold onto and drag in the water as the boat cruises across the bay. When you look down you see hundreds of dolphins where as only about 100 surface at a time. There’s so much more to say. But I’ll end with this. If you’re looking for a place to relax and see sights like none other, stay at Le Mirage Villa Santai! After our stay in Lovina we went to Seminyak and stayed at The W Hotel, it doesn’t compare to Villa Santai.

Wow! What a place and lovely people!! The villa is magnificent! The buildings and surrounding area is very well kept and clean. Don’t forget the infinite pool. You really can go for a swim here! You can believe the photo’s. The place looks like a fairytale, but it is real! Honey and Ray are great hosts. They arranged a dinner at the beach where we saw a beautiful sunset. Also a very good dolphin and snorkeling tour. Other traveling issues where handled very carefully by Honey and Ray. Also the rest of the staff are great people! Most of the day they were there catering to all our needs. We loved the cooking of Anik! Gede and Komang where also there working on the villa and garden. They are friendly, helpful and professional! One of us unfortunately got very sick here (nothing to do with the villa). He got very well taken care of. Honey, Ray and the rest of the staff live up to their quote ‘Arrive as guests – depart as friends’! When we had to leave, we already got a bit homesick. When we go back to Bali we sure will go back here, but longer than the 3 days we had now. See you all next time! Love from family Riphagen Also a side note: when we went to Bali, there where less tourists than normal because of the volcano Agung. The area where there could be problems is off limits for tourists. So tourists have nothing to fear. We went on a round trip on Bali and never felt anything like a earthquake even though the ground around the volcano is still trembling (and getting more calm right now). Spacious, well decorated and nicely kept rooms. Massive swimming pool, beautiful views. However the icing on the cake were Ray and Honey; they could not have been more accommodating and dealt with all our requests perfectly! The staff were also great, delicious meals and drinks. 非常非常棒的一次入住体验,已经分享给了好多朋友!不管是房间还是公共区域都很完美!3500平米只有你和你的小伙伴们!想怎么玩你决定!房东人超级好!还给了我一个大惊喜!谢谢Ray和honey给了我一个很棒的生日!离海滩大概有五分钟的车程!罗威娜这边的海滩很平静水也很漂亮!在别墅的楼顶就可以看到海!还可以看到超美的火烧云和日落!下次如果有机会来一定还会入住这里!离开了库塔那边的喧嚣在这里安安静静的假期也许是你想要的!还有特别推荐honey做的辣椒酱真的特别特别好吃!不怕辣的一定要试试!

Anyone travelling to Bali, who wants a change from the busy South, should consider Lovina, North Bali, it’s so beautiful and untouched. We went out and saw hundreds of dolphins this morning all around our outrigger boat, and had the best snorkelling adventure ever, so many fish and the water was crystal clear. Tomorrow we are heading to the waterfalls, If you want a great place to stay, with awesome hosts (Ray and Honey), look into Le Mirage Santai. It’s a five bedroom villa, so there is plenty of room for friends or family. The rooms are huge and overlook beautiful gardens and a great pool. The staff are at your beck and call and the hosts are ready and willing to help with anything you want, from organising tours, getting in any food and drinks you request, to running you back and forward to town. They have loads of local knowledge, and have the advantage of being Aussie and Indonesian, so they can communicate with the locals and visitors very easily. They will give you as much privacy as you wish, or join you for a meal or a chat whenever you like. The rooms are very big, and well laid out, with everything you need. There are lots of great restaurants and bars around the area and not too many hawkers to hassle you. You will wake up to the sounds of the bush, roosters, birds and occasionally chanting in the distance, which just reminds you of where you are, in this beautiful paradise. Food and drinks are inexpensive, as are the items you can buy from the locals. A new floating international airport is getting underway in August. Right now, it takes three hours to drive from Denpasar to Lovina, but eventually you will be able to fly direct to Singaraja, 10 km away. We’ve loved our stay, and definitely plan on coming back.

WOW!! What an amazing place. We could not believe the size and the beauty of Le Mirage, it’s rooms, gardens, pool and other areas are enormous. Honestly, from the pictures we saw when booking we were worried about how it could possibly be this inexpensive for such a big place and for 6 adults & 4 kids. But it was and the pics do not do it justice. Ray explained it was only rented for the past 12 months and the price was to help build the venue through reviews and training etc. Lucky us! Our entire group was absolutely spoilt from the moment we arrived to our reluctant departure. Honey and Ray communicated with us before we arrived and made a lot of things we had not organised yet so much easier for us. They arranged one car and driver to meet us at the airport where our own enquiries kept telling us we would need 2 vehicles. The Dolphins tour Honey arranged was spectacular and we were amazed by how many there were in the Lovina waters. We took advantage of their value meal package and the food was always top class as was the presentation & service. The staff, Anik, Gede & Komang were all pleasant, although there English was ok it was great having Ray & Honey for all our translation needs. They organised a wonderful dinner at the Lovina and we all ate about a metre from the beach with great views & service as well as the transfers to and from Le Mirage for free. The Villa is amazing value and although we added an extra 2 people at late notice it was no problem and we could have had double this and still plenty of space. A few of us went with Captain Eddie at Rays suggestion on a 7 hour fishing trip and it was a real experience to never forget. We loved the area around the villa and the short trips we took both with the villa’s driver and on a couple of rented motor scooters. Everything is so affordable you just don’t want to stay still, but we did find it so relaxing & peaceful especially with the onsite massages and a private yoga instructor one day. I can’t say enough great things about this place and highly recommend it to all travellers wanting amazing value for money, high quality venue and service and the most perfect position & surroundings. We will be back in Bali again and will always head north to Le Mirage Villa Santai. Thanks guys for the best time ever.

We had an amazing stay at Honey & Ray’s place. We visited at the end of a big hectic trip to Australia and were looking for somewhere we could relax with our 10 month old baby before heading back to London. The villa was the perfect place for this. Absolutely stunning looking, with beautiful grounds, large bedrooms and an amazing infinity pool, the villa felt incredibly luxurious and spacious for our little family and we absolutely loved spending time here. There was so much to see and so much space that we didn’t really feel the need to leave. Ray and Honey were the perfect hosts. From the very beginning of our stay to our final sad farewell, we were looked after very well, with both hosts going out of their way to help us with everything we needed, from painkillers for a toothache, to booking us shuttle buses, yoga teachers and tables for dinner. At the villa, there are friendly staff on hand to cook fresh meals and make sure the house is kept impeccable. We loved spending time with Annik and Gedde, and they really helped out with our baby, keeping her entertained when I had to make conference calls, and babysitting when we wanted a bit of time to ourselves. Having stayed in Seminyak the week before, the town of Lovina, which is nearest to the villa felt so much more relaxed and authentic albeit without the shopping you can find further south. We had some great meals out, and I can definitely recommend the dolphin trip. Take Ray’s advice and go a bit later with Eddie – we saw a huge amount of dolphins and were pretty much the only boat out there. The difference between this airbnb booking and others we have stayed at in Europe was that we were really looked after here. We took advantage of meals being made for us, and having Ray and Honey do our drinks shopping, meaning that we could really relax. This was one of our definite highlights of the trip and I can honestly say I can’t wait to go back.
